    Therapeutic Approach & Special Methods

  • What is Art Therapy?

A creative approach using visual media to support healing

  • Do I need to be artistic?

No. No prior skills or artistic talents are required.

  • What happens during a talk therapy session?

A confidential conversation tailored specifically to your individual needs.

  • What is “unintentional painting” in Britta’s approach?

Rooted in psychodynamic tradition, unintentional painting surfaces deep unconscious thoughts and processes traumatic, unspeakable experiences without a fixed goal. Britta uses a unique two-step process: you paint freely, pause to reflect on your first impressions, and then refine the artwork to define, highlight, or transform the emerging imagery.

  • Why does Britta sometimes paint alongside the client?

Painting together with watercolour on paper is a collaborative way to reduce anxiety and ease the pressure of the blank page. It creates a shared, safe space that invites you to be more playful, curious, and free. Through this shared creative flow, deeper, unspoken feelings can naturally and gently surface on the paper.

  • What ares can be addressed in therapy?

Life transitions, personal growth, emotional blocks, and healing processes.
